Lana, which nestles in a unique position between north and south, enjoys a
special, almost Mediterranean climate practically all year
round, which allows palm trees to grow and magnolias and snowdrops to blossom as
early as March.
During the apple blossom season in April the area around Lana
is transformed into a wonderful, shimmering, pinkish-white sea of
blossom. And when this colourful splendour is in full bloom, the
Blossom Festival takes place in Lana, a festival that is
dedicated to the countless apple blossoms and which marks the start of spring.
For two weeks, from 10th to 25th April 2010, a number of special events will
be offered as part of the Blossom Festival, including guided apple tours, wine
tastings, walks to the vineyards, the rustic “culinary mile”
and a visit to the Museum
of Fruit Growing, which – where else? – is situated in South Tyrol’s oldest
fruit growing area – Lana.
